Mohit Suri’s psychological action thriller, Ek Villain Returns, is a sequel to the 2014 release starring Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, and Shraddha Kapoor. The first installment was a hit at the box office. However, the second part has failed to impress the audience in the theatres. On Day 7, Ek Villain Returns hardly collected any money. It keeps dwindling in the Rs 2 crore bracket. The film stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria in the lead.

IndiaToday.in gave Ek Villain Returns 3 out of 5 stars. The film has a mega-star cast and was expected to do decent business at the box office. However, the collections seem to be dipping as fans have rejected the sequel of the 2014 film, Ek Villain. Ek Villain Returns had a fair start and raked in Rs 7.5 crore on Day 1. On Day 6, the film’s total collection amounted to Rs 31.80 crore.

Ek Villain Returns made around Rs 2 crore on its fifth day, which is way below what it had to be. Hence, the total collection would now stand at approx Rs 33.97 crore reportedly. Now, it will be a slow crawl to Rs 40 crore for the film, trade reports suggest. Meanwhile, Ek Villain Returns had an overall 7.75 per cent Hindi Occupancy on Thursday, August 4.

Ek Villain Returns is the sequel to the 2014 hit film, Ek Villain, which starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh. While the first film of the franchise was about a conflict between a hero and a villain, Ek Villain Returns follows the story of two villains, with John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor essaying negative roles. Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani play the female leads in the thriller. The film is helmed by Mohit Suri. Ek Villain Returns marks John Abraham’s first collaboration with the director. Meanwhile, Disha Patani played the lead role in Mohit’s last directorial, Malang.
