Jordan Peele continues to rack in millions of dollars in ticket sales in the United States, with his latest film, “Nope,” already hitting $100M in domestic sales since flying into theaters on July 22.

This is Peele’s third consecutive film to pass the $100M mark in his directorial career. His first feature film “Get Out,” which earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, made over $176M domestically. His second film, “Us,” made $175M, according to Variety.

The resounding box office success of “NOPE” this summer is exciting for several other reasons. For starters, it is one of the most high-profile movies of 2022 to feature a largely non-white leading cast. And, in an era defined by major studio properties like Marvel and “Star Wars,” it is one of the only fully original films of the pandemic-era to hit that $100M threshold.
