By Anindita Mukherjee: Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Adipurush’ opened to huge expectations. However, saw a null response soon after. The film wasn’t a complete dud at the box office but failed to mint the amount it was expected to. ‘Adipurush’ might be in its last leg of run at the box office and has been earning less than Rs 50 lakh on a daily basis, even after changed dialogues and an apology note from the makers.
‘ADIPURUSH’ CONTINUES TO DIP
Prabhas’ ‘Adipurush’ releaed in theatres on June 16 amid multiple controversies. The film had a pan-Indian release in five languages, namely, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kerala.
The Om Raut-directorial opened amid massive expectations at the box office. However, the film fell prey to criticisms for its poor VFX and dialogues. Adipurush is nearing its theatrical end and couldn’t sustain a successful one-month run in theatres. Over the past few days, the film has been collecting between Rs 20-35 lakh at the Indian box office.
Previously, T-Series announced that ‘Adipurush’ crossed Rs 450 crore gross worldwide. This left the Internet divided with a few suggesting that the numbers were rigged. Trade analysts pointed out that the film could have incurred a loss of Rs 50 crore or more. An official statement regarding the same is yet to be out.
