Black Adam rules the box office for the second week in a row with $108M during Halloween weekend
Warner Bros.’ superhero picture Black Adam will top the Halloween weekend box office for the second week in a row with a projected domestic total of $108 million.
The 50-year-old action megastar remains King of the Box Office as his film is projected to rake in nearly $30 million this coming week, according to Deadline.
Last week, the newly-minted DC superhero opened with a huge $67 million domestically and $140 million worldwide.
The DC Extended Universe film was the best-drawing film at the box office since Thor: Love and Thunder debuted with $143 million this past July.
Raking it in: Dwayne Johnson has conquered the box office for the second week as Black Adam is expected to earn $25.5 million on it’s second weekend
On Wednesday, Johnson took to Instagram to thank his 343 million followers for giving him the biggest box office opening of his entire career with Black Adam.
‘We made history,’ Johnson captioned his lengthy Instagram video.
Speaking directly into the camera as he filmed himself in his gym, the action star thanked his fans profusely for seeing the movie, which has been a ‘passion project’ of his for the past 15 years.
‘Thank you, thank you, thank you,’ said the former wrestler, who was flushed from his workout. ‘I am a delivering a big-ass package of gratitude right now.’

Johnson went on to say that he believes in ‘being the hardest worker in the room’ and that while it’s ‘nice to be important,’ he believes it’s ‘more important to be nice.’
With his famous muscles exposed in a lavender workout tank, The Rock spoke about ‘controlling the controllables and putting in the hard work’ with his own two hands so that he can deliver for his fans.
Dwayne referred to his massive fanbase as his ‘number 1 boss’ and described how the film’s immense success at the box office has been ‘humbling’ and ‘motivating’ for him.

The DC superfan gave a diplomatic shoutout to his ‘friends’ at Marvel before declaring that he loves DC ‘through and through’ and that Marvel’s rival is ‘in my blood.’
Johnson listed Superman and the Green Lantern as some of his favorite superheroes, but shared that he has always had a particularly affinity for Black Adam.
The Jumanji star opened up about the experience of seeing Black Adam – an all-powerful superbeing from ancient Egypt – as a young boy, saying it was ‘arresting’ to see a major comic book character with brown skin.
Johnson, 50, was snapped at a promotional event for the film last week
‘The brown skin was the thing that really grabbed my attention,’ said Johnson, who is half-Black and half-Samoan. ‘That’s the guy who I wanted to be one day.’
The motion picture, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, debuted to mixed reviews, earning a 40 percent fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, while audiences graded it a 90 percent score.
Johnson’s performance has been praised by critics acknowledging that the action star is tailor-made for the superhero genre and that the role of Black Adam is a perfect showcase for his innate charisma and magnetism.
Who cares about critics? Despite lackluster reviews, the 50-year-old action megastar is widely expected to remain King of the Box Office as his film is projected to rake in nearly $30 million this coming week, according to Deadline (pictured last week)
