‘Brahmastra’ receives mixed reactions following OTT debut; viewers call it ‘wannabe Marvel film’ | Hindi Movie News

After a successful run at the box office with a gross collection of around Rs 450-500 crore, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt‘s ‘Brahmastra’ finally made its OTT debut.

Ranbir and Alia, who play the lead stars in the film, went all out to spread the word about its OTT premiere on Friday. Those who tuned in to watch the film on their television sets, later took to social media to share their reactions. While some were ecstatic to watch the film again after catching it on the big screen, others seemed rather disappointed.

Twitter was flooded with mixed audience reactions about the film’s plot, story and VFX. While everyone seemed to like the film, they all agreed that the dialogues and story needed improvement.

“Yesterday I watched in hot star #Brahmastra story is good, everyone’s performance is good, visuals are great, VFX was excellent dialogues were (face palm emoticon),” a fan wrote.

Another said declared, “Nice effects, lame story!” The Twitter user explained, “Just watched #Brahmastra! As much as I enjoyed the VFX, the story was just not good. #AstraVerse is driven by love, the protectors give up secret weapons very easily, & Isha turns Shiva on in the most literal sense!”

Some others seemed unimpressed by the film’s hugely hyped VFX work. “Seriously!! There’s a limit for everything, I literally had a laser show on my TV, my eyes are still aching,” one fan complained.

Another wrote, “Brahmastra A wannabe Marvel film with least research about Indian culture…”

“Thank god I didn’t watch the film in Theatre,” said another.

Brahmastra also starred Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna in lead roles. After a successful start to the Astraverse franchise, director Ayan Mukerji has confirmed that he has started work on the sequel ‘Brahmastra Part 2: Dev’.
