On January 1, the Hawkeye star sustained serious injuries in an accident with a snow plough in his Nevada home in Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe as the region was hit with adverse weather.

According to an official statement from his family, the Mission Impossible actor “suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” and underwent surgery on January 2.

“He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” the statement also reads, with Renner’s family thanking the medical professionals looking after him and all the fans for their outpouring of love.

It is understood that the MCU star suffered massive blood loss as a result of the plough running over one of his legs. Reportedly, a neighbour on the scene helped Renner by creating a makeshift tourniquet to slow down the bleeding.
