    Limited Edition Hardcover Book
    By Gichin and Gigo Funakoshi
    Translated by Ayano Shimada
This is an original work by the father of modern Shotokan karate, and his son. Originally created in 1941 by Gichin and Gigo Funakoshi, it was thought to be lost until its recent rediscovery. Despite its apparent simplicity, this kata holds immense significance in the chronicles of Shotokan karate, as it stems from the collaborative efforts of the Master and his son. The Heavenly Kata has been professionally transcribed and translated from the original Japanese text along with several traditional Kumite combinations. Also included is a photo gallery of over 100 rare photos from Japanese karate enthusiasts, and from Hal Sharp’s private collection. (Mr. Sharp was a bodyguard for the Emperor of Japan at the end of WW2.) Each numbered hardcover copy comes in a sealed slip case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Limited edition. This is a must have for any Martial Arts collection! 6×9. Color and B&W. 155 pages.
